Hairs are Cut

My Mom and I got haircuts from the fabulous Kelly today. She does my baby bangs juuust right, and is literally the only person I’ve trusted with cutting my hair for awhile. I was planning on growing my hair out, but then I figured…if I’ve got someone around that I trust to give me a shorter cut, I should take advantage of it before I move back east to the land of hair stylist famine. After the cut we drove into the city so my Mom could get some footage of Temple Square for her primary kids. The kids she teaches on Sundays have apparently been rather confused with where she could have gone. (What’s UTAH?) So she and John wandered around for a few minutes and videotaped some things to send back to them. I sat in the car and melted watching the sister missionaries wander around in their nylons. I ended up trying out the video camera thingy on my phone and managed to get a message to my Dad declaring my need to pee. He texted back and said he was having some pizza. So I guess I was successful in getting the message out there.

After Mom and John returned we drove home, and which time I thoroughly PASSED OUT. I can’t believe I slept so hard. One second John was tucking me in and telling me I needed to rest, the next thing I knew an hour and a half had passed, and I was groggy and pillow-cheeked wandering into the living room wondering if it was my birthday. I eventually woke up enough to go to Target with my Mom. A family friend’s wife had her baby today (baby Hyrum) and one of my friends at work just finalized her adoption (baby Clara) and so there were some gifts to find. My Mom and I went in on a Boppy for my friend at work, and then my Mom got a bunch of monkey-themed bed stuff for Hyrum and I got some receiving blankets. It was fun shopping for the babies- but I get so selfish when baby shopping!! I want everything for Camper!! We did find a onesie that says, “I’m not Grumpy!” that we HAD to get him. It was too cute. And just so you know…Hyrum…11 lbs. 10 oz. YES. Almost a 12 lb. baby. When I heard that, I couldn’t even believe it. His Daddy is over 6 feet tall and a broad shouldered lad, and his Mom is pretty tall too, I hear…but still. STILL. 12 lbs. When I heard that I saw a picture of Tevye from Fiddler on the Roof in my head saying, “God smite me with such a curse!” Not that that makes sense…because he was talking about money…and wanting it…and I’m talking about wanting a baby HALF that big…but Tevye probably would have been excited about a strapping lad like that after all those girls. Poor Tevye. Anyway, moving on to thoughts that make sense and are relevant.

At Target we also got some spider spray…because John has spotted a few and is on a death mission again. I also got a couple pairs of PJ shorts, half for my hospital bag and half for just getting through the summer. I got some underwears for my hospital bag (nursing bra, anyone? super fun, huh!?) and some chapstick for the same. Time to get the hospital stuff together! John has requested some M&Ms in there, I think…and I’ll probably put some pop tarts and MAYBE some Zingers. All his favorite non-perishables. Some sugar to get him through all the people who will be visiting.

So that’s what I’ve been up to today. A rather large of amount of activity- at least for me lately. If I get a good nap in the afternoon though, I can usually function a bit at night, too. Maybe the iron is helping. I know the family is. They put up with ALL my moods. Oh how I love them.

Wow, sounds like things are improving, that is alot of activity for you, it would be for me. This may sound silly, but why the heck do the Mormons have missionaries in Salt Lake? It is like the captiol of the Church, if someone was in need of coverting i bet they have like 500 churches that would send some home teachers to the house. Just wondering.
I am so glad that you guys had a good day, and that you are feeling like getting out and doing a few things. I am also glad that you are napping when told to do so, keep up the good work. I Love you all, and think of you often Auntie P
