Hey guess what? I miss you! Please tell me you'll be in Utah until the spring when I get back! I'm so glad I found you on facebook and then found your blog. Yay for the internet and the ability to track people down!

p.s. I do like what you said about the Prop 8 madness... I know there are lots of people that had conflicting opinions about it. I'm a California girl and I had the privilege to vote yes, for whatever reason it was a pretty straight-forward decision for me :)

I just posted an article on my blog you might be interested in reading. :) We had to vote on Prop102 in AZ and it's the same as Prop8. The Sunday before the Election, we had a statewide conference and President Packer spoke via a broadcast in SLC. We all thought going into it that it was going to be VOTE YES VOTE YES VOTE YES but he talked a lot about his ties with AZ and mentioned prop102 for about 10 min of the 2 hour conference. He kind said this is the way that the Lord would have it and this is way and then left it alone and nobody else that spoke during the conference said much about it. I thought that was interesting. It is kind of strange to see the church taking such a stance on issues but there must be a reason for it that we can't see. Anyway, hope you and little Camper are doin good! :)

You make some really good points. It is not enough in this world to do what you think is right anymore, you have to decide what you think about all kinds of stuff that is new to you. I think more than ever a belief system that gives you direction is also bound to be questioned. I did find it intresting that Calif. was just fine with this situation, untill they had to begin to provide healtcare for the people that had flocked there to be wed. The cost of thousands of aids sufferers, who must be applying for state medicare must be making it hard to put ads about how great the state is on TV. It is a hard cold fact that many of the people that are getting so worked up about this, and are trying to scare the hell out of the rest of us, have a great deal to loose, finicially. Just something else to ponder.

My "short" view. Homosexuality is wrong. It's been wrong forever, and it will continue to be wrong. It does not fit into God's plan. Does that mean we hate people who live a homosexual life? NO. We love them as Heavenly Father still loves them. Prop 8 is to protect the definition of marriage. Marriage has always been defined as a union of a man and a woman. ALWAYS. Just because a certain groups wants to change it NOW does not invalidate it in any way. There is no violation of "seperation of church and state" with the many churches that supported Prop 8. I agree with a quote that was said during the homosexual protests, ""Marriage has been defined as a man and woman since time began," Waters said. "The people of California have voted twice, so I think the best thing to do is for everybody involved to figure out a way to move forward."" It's not just "our church" that wants to uphold the definition of marriage. It's U.S.
