Yesterday my Mom, Bubbs and I went to visit my Auntie and my cousin and her son in CT. We make this drive every so often, my Aunt lives just close enough and just far enough away that it’s doable in a day, but definitely an event. Whether we go there or they come here, it’s always fun to see people we love.
I saw my cousin Sara’s son for the first time in MONTHS. He just turned 1 year old, and I can’t believe how fast he’s crawling, how much he’s walking, and how BUSY he is. I realized that although Bubbs is taking his time with the serious crawling (we’re still just scootching) I was looking around last night after getting home and realized that I have to make some changes. The changes were as following:
1) I changed the position of Bubb’s changing table to be kitty corner instead of flat again the wall. This way I hide LOADS of powerstrip/electrical outlet stuff.
2) I took part of his bookshelf (stackable) and set it up the table in his room. This way his books are safe from crawling baby, and hopefully standing baby can be taught to be gentle with books.
3) I put the shoe rack in the closet. Not as convinient for Mommy, but at least I won’t be cleaning shoes up every day. This also gave me room to move his dresser to cover the other outlet in the room.
4) I moved things off the bottom shelf in the bookcase in my room. See #2.
5) I put my camera equipment in a drawer. Safely in a drawer.
That’s about it for now….I also vacuumed, because I haven’t done it in awhile (I usually ask John to do it), and cleaned the bathroom. Pretty busy day. I’m also doing laundry, but when am I not doing laundry of some kind?
Today is one of those days when I wonder why it’s only 2 o’clock…3 o’clock….4 o’clock. Maybe it’s because I’m waiting for John to get home and I know it won’t be til after 6. But I’m filling up the time. I gave Bubbs a bath, which now is a soapless event after I got yelled at by the doctor. OK, she didn’t yell, and it was actually a nurse practitioner, but she saw Bubb’s dry skin and said, “Babies aren’t dishes. They don’t need soap every time.” So I’m trying to put my OCD aside and let him have just “water” days. So far I haven’t seen an improvement in his skin, so if you know of a lotion that has worked wonders on your dry baby, let me know. We use Cetaphil right now…and a little bit of Johnson and Johnson lavender stuff. But really…I’d love to know.
So on to the next thing, I guess. Making some dinner maybe? We will see.

thanks for making dinner for us! I loved it and was so hungry when I got home! I do appreciate all you do!
Aquaphor is a great lotion. Has many great uses which include treatment for diaper rash.
