Really?

So.  This is the recipe for an overall disinfectant/cleaner I found online:

Disinfectant all purpose cleaner: Mix a few drops of natural soap, 2 cups water, and 15 drops each of tea tree and lavender essential oil (you can use just the one oil- but 30 drops, I just like the mix). You can spray this on all surfaces, like cutting boards, counters, toilets, walls, (except it will streak glass). This stuff disinfects but is so safe you can actually spray it on your baby – you can’t say that about most commercial household cleaners.

And here is the recipe for homemade baby wipes:

The Basic Mix

  • 2 cups of water
  • 2 tbsp organic baby soap

Add

  • 1 tbsp of an essential oil such as calendula, lavender, tea tree or apricot Aloe Vera gel.

I mean, at least the first one says you can spray it on your baby.  But will that really clean my toilets?  I think I’m sticking with this one:

  • 3-4 cups hot water
  • 2 teaspoons Borax
  • 4 tablespoons vinegar
  • 15 drops of an essential oil
  • 1/4 teaspoon liquid soap (if needed for extra cleaning power)
  • Mix in a large spray bottle and remember to shake before each use to mix up the ingredients well

It smells a little more vinegary than the first one…but at least I feel like it has some teeth.  I mean BORAX.  Doesn’t that just sound scary?

BORAX.

Did you ever have Mr. Bradshaw for Latin? He used “borax” as his substitute swear word. It was very effective.

I didn’t. But that’s funny, it IS scary!
