So when I was roaming around my kid’s room today I saw that he had made some serious progress. On his crib. Biting his crib. So I thought I’d show you.
We’ll start with the “Not so bad.”

And then a little worse.

and WAM.

My child is a beaver. I’m worried about his little teeth. (He’s currently breaking 3, count ‘em 3, molars simultaneously. He’s miserable.) I worry about his bloodstream and possible toxins from ingesting wood varnish or whateverthecrap people use to cover wood and make it the color that it becomes. I’m worried about butt splinters. Should I be worried, or just chill? That is my question, Internet. Answer?

Hmmm…good question. I wonder about this one too.
I am sorry this has me cracking up, poor boy. Erin, I am pretty sure that the newer cribs and baby furniture are all required to have non toxic, injestable paint and finish. Kids have been doing this forever tho, so try not to worry. As far as butt splinters, wood will digest in the gut, so that should be ok. However while you are looking at the gums and the teeth progress i would look around in there for any stuff that should not be there. And try to get a pic of him doing it for me, I would love to see the look in his eye when he gets going. You know that Mom and you can tell when he is going to bite, just by the look in the eye LOL. The little beaver boy will grow out of this, so do not get too worried. Gramma Kay had a crib with bite marks in different places, she would identify each spot with one of our names, cause none of us like the same chew area…LOL
Love you lots P
would this help?

poor little beaver. ;-) zoey went through a phase like this as well, and not to worry, she no longer chews on EVERYTHING she can get her gums on. her crib has definitely seen better days, though.
Erica,, that is such a good idea, very good indeed.
