A Giveaway- Out of LOVE for this book.

I finally finished a book I bought awhile ago called The Blessing of a Skinned Knee by Wendy Mogel.  I loved every sentence in the book.  I couldn’t get through 5 pages without going to get a pen so I could circle and write exclamation points in the margins.  Her child philsophy comes straight from Jewish teachings and practices, and although I’m not Jewish myself, I found myself wishing that I belonged to the culture she was describing.  She talks about real things, and her book seems to offer a way to integrate religion into real life, unapologetically, while still living in the here and now.  I can’t find words strong enough to encourage you to read it, so I’m going to give one away.

I feel like I am downright blessed to be able to stay home with my son.  However and in any case, work at home, work out of the home, stay at home, all parents are obligated to raise their children to be healthy, happy members of their community.  I felt it keenly in this book, both the duty and the “how.”

Summertime is soon upon us, and one of my FAVORITE things about summer as a kid were the BOOKS.  Because school was out, my mom would usually sign us up for the local library’s summer reading program which offered incentives to read books off a list and come back to the library for activity days.  I loved it, and decided to do a book giveaway this time around.  This is one that my Mom posted about on Baby Book Club. I love building my library list for Camper, so if you have any suggestions head on over there and leave your ideas.

Giveaway #3 Monkey time!

Leave a comment about your kid’s favorite past time to enter the raffle for Bubby’s favorite traveling toy. (A new one, of course, not the one my kid has slobbered all over.)

We got this as a gift from a friend and our son can’t get enough of it.  All the different textures and patterns keep him busy during car rides and while shopping.  Plus, it’s pretty cute.

REMEMBER, leave a comment about something your baby loves to do.  If you’re pregnant, tell us about what your baby is up to this week.  If you don’t have a baby and want it as a gift, tell us about who you’d like to give it to.  Random comments will not be entered into the drawing.

Miracle Blanket Giveaway!

In honor of my most favorite swaddle ever, I’m hosting a Miracle Blanket giveaway!  Up for grabs:

One beige/natural colored 100% cotton swaddle, pediatrician recommended, of course!  And although I’m no pediatrician, I can vouch for this one myself!

This is all you have to do-

If you have a baby, leave a comment about one specific hectic night sans sleep.  For example: The night John and I held Camper up as if he were crawling on the ceiling while singing “Spider baby, spider baby…”  (Yeah, that was a real low point in our sleep deprivation days.  At least Camper seemed to be having fun.)

If you have a baby on the way or know someone who could use it as a gift, nominate yourself or friend by commenting on your fears/questions about sleeping post baby.  Or not sleeping, post baby, as the case may be.

And if you don’t fit either of those categories and still want it, hey, be my guest.  Just comment and state your case, and we’ll see!

The giveaway will be open until 12am February 28th, at which time we let Bubby choose a number and a winner! (That next morning anyway, he’s rarely up at midnight anymore!)
